Nikita Afonso

Hi, my name is Nikita Afonso.  I am a seventeen year old girl from Penticton.  I love to sing, play the guitar and write my own songs.  I love listening to all sorts of genres, but country music is my favourite because it always tells some sort of story or has a powerful message.  My favourite singer at the moment is Miranda Lambert.  I am currently in Grade 12 at Pen Hi Senior Secondary School.  I was fortunate enough to win McNicoll Idol and Pen High Idol and came in top 10 in other competitions.  I also like to play at various venues in and around town, such as the Farmer’s Market, Kyle Anderson’s Thursday Night Showcases, and at multiple senior’s centres.  I started to learn the guitar when I was 11.  I love to play sports like soccer and basketball as well, but my true passion is music.

The Carver Nemecheck Trio

Carver Nemechek is a folk artist who is heavily influenced by blues music. He began writing and recording music over the course of the last year with the intent of putting out a full length album. Since, he has put most of his music on soundcloud.com/carver-nemechek and made it available for free download. With his instruments of choice including electric and acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica, among many others, his sound is soulful and unique.

Hey, I'm Kris Marsel. I'm a bass player from Penticton BC, and I have been playing guitar and bass my whole 17 years of age. I have been playing bass in my church band once a month for the last 4 years, and have recently joined the "Carver Nemechek Trio" We all have our own influences in the band, but for me, I bring the aggressiveness of rock and metal to my playing. I love music, I can't imagine being here without it.

My name is Landon Wigley, and I play the drums for the "Carver Nemechek Trio" I'm a grade 12 student at Maggie and live right here in OK Falls. I've been playing guitar and drums for 7 years. I have more of a metal influence to my drumming, but I play any genre of music. When I am not playing music, I like to work out and wrestle competitively.

Les Folles Jambettes

Les Folles Jambettes hail from Grand Forks, BC.  They can be seen flying across the stage doing leg circles, the pigeon wing, and dropping to the splits!  The women in the group range in age from 26 through 61 and come from all walks of life.  They are mothers, councilors, nurses, managers, seamstresses, community support workers, students, and small business owners!  They have performed for many events, including the Williams Lake Stampede, the acclaimed Kamloops Cowboy Festival, an event at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, the Merrit Mountain Music Festival, the Hope Mountain Blues Festival, Fall Fairs, the B.C. Cattleman’s Association AGM, and have traveled twice, representing Canada, to Forst Germany and Poland at their annual Folklore Avalanche.  Watch out for these highly acclaimed dancers, and lose yourself in their ruffles and feathers!  Step back in time to the Wild West with Les Folles Jambettes!
